Download data from ftp-server

The option to get access to the FTP-server through a browser or Windows File Explorer is unfortunately no longer available. Instead you have to use an FTP-client to access the data.

You can for example download the client FileZilla on the following link: https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client

Guide to the setup of the FTP-server in FileZilla (English edition)

Choose ”Site Manager” from the tap File (or click ctrl + s) and fill out the fields as shown below in the screenshot:


  1. Click “New site” under the tab General.
  2. Name the new connection under “My sites”.
  3. Enter the ftp-server, port and your username and password. Afterwards it is possible to enter the FTP-subfolder to the dataset and the local map on your own PC under the tab “Advanced”, where to the downloaded dataset should be located on your PC.  
  4. The set up terminates by clicking “Connect”.
